Universitas Diponegoro KKN Team II has completed one of the monodisciplinary programs attended by residents of Tlogosari Village, Tlogowungu District, Pati Regency, Central Java. This monodisciplinary program takes the form of education on making simple prototypes for fire detectors based on Arduino UNO and Flame Sensor. This program is one of the monodisciplinary programs from Rahmawati Husnul Khotimah Wulandari, Automation Engineering Technology study program, Vocational School.
This program was implemented at the residence of Mrs. Umaidah, a resident of Tlogosari Village, more precisely in Dukuh Njugo. This program provides education to local residents on how to make a simple prototype to detect fires. Later the sensor used can detect fire around the sensor.
This prototype was designed using an Arduino UNO type microcontroller, Flame Sensor, and also a buzzer. The way this prototype works is that if there is a fire around the sensor, the sensor will send a signal to the Arduino UNO, so that the Arduino UNO will give a signal to the buzzer and the buzzer will sound as a reminder when a fire is detected.
Tlogosari Village residents who attended the outreach event were given a module which contained an explanation of the design for making this fire detector prototype, such as what tools and materials were used, the program that would be uploaded to the Arduino IDE, and how to install and use this prototype. Residents are also taught how to deal with damage to this prototype, so that if one day residents try to make it and encounter damage, residents can immediately repair it without having to take it to repair.
The hope is that residents who come to the outreach event, especially young people, can learn and imitate making this prototype. Because it is a prototype, of course it cannot be used as a main tool like the tools sold on the market. However, by learning and finding out how to make this, residents can create new innovations by applying the knowledge that has been conveyed during the training.
